Many Americans participated in the National Moment of Silence yesterday for the victims who were massacred in Newtown, CT one week ago. Many websites also "went dark" at 9:30am ET. But the websites of Barack Obama -- "the president who cares" -- were raking in blood money. In an email that was sent out to supporters on the tragedy, Obama used the twenty dead children as an opportunity to add two donation links -- both for HIS campaign. No "teddy bear" or "comfort dog" links that would have been more appropriate. Just "click-on-this" links for him. And that is more than disturbing.
Paul Bedard reports: "They won the campaign handily and even had $14.2 million to spare, but the Obama-Biden campaign is still raising money, this time off the president's comments about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in Connecticut. In email from chief campaign advisor David Axelrod that urges supporters to watch President Obama's moving address to the community of Newtown, Conn., there are two links that open a page with a video player featuring the president's speech and two donate buttons asking for $15-$1,000 for his campaign."
Then again, it's not the first time that Obama has exploited tragedy. In fact, he's proven himself to be an expert at "never letting a crisis go to waste." And he has access to the Bill Clinton playbook.
I had already made up my mind upon reading Jason Whitlock's take on the murder-suicide committed by Jovan Belcher before hearing Bob Costas reference the article in his anti-gun rant in the middle of a football game Sunday night on national TV -- that "handguns do not enhance our safety, they exacerbate our flaws, tempt us to escalate arguments, and bait us into embracing confrontation rather than avoiding it."
My first reaction was "Huh? What? Here? Now? Oh yeah, it's NBC." And I turned the channel. I had tuned in to catch the score, not hear from some hypocrite who travels with an armed entourage protecting him. And I found the way Costas came across, stating that drivel so matter-of-factly as if it were gospel, particularly galling. What a fool. It reminded me of his Jerry Sandusky interview debacle on NBC and how that played out -- very disturbing.
It also told me how weak in the mind both Costas and Whitlock are to actually believe that tripe -- to openly admit they cannot even trust themselves to control their will, act with discipline, nor show reason when baited or tempted. It's a good thing that they themselves are not armed. It reminds me of that sign (see below) by the anti-Obama gun store Southwest Shooting Authority that states Obama voters are "not welcome" there because they're "not responsible enough to own a firearm." Both Costas and Whitlock certainly fall into that category.
But in the Culture War, Bob Costas achieved his objective -- he got to spout off to a national TV audience -- no matter how many times he has since pretended to walk back what he said. Don't believe him. And don't expect him to use that very same NBC platform again -- Sunday night in the middle of a football game -- and offer up a sincere retraction because we all know that'll never happen.
Listen to Grover Norquist in the video below, then read William A. Jacobson’s accompanying piece ‘The Tea Party tsunami at the gates’ -- the two go hand-in-glove.
Grover Norquist (at the video’s 10:38 mark): “We are about to have a Tea Party second wave that’s going to dwarf the first wave and that is because while ‘spend too much’ brought the Tea Party into existence, we’re about to walk into ‘spend too much, regulate too much, and tax too much,’ all together. It’s going to be a perfect storm of annoying government behavior, which is devastating to the economy, and I think the small business community which is going to be particularly hit by Obama’s tax increases are going to lead the fight bigger, stronger, tougher than the last Tea Party, and this is where Obama is making a big mistake -- he doesn’t understand who he’s threatening, who he’s irritating, and how this is going to turn out. So I think we’re going to see a real snap back against this administration’s excesses just like the last time.”
Professor William A. Jacobson writes: “Grover Norquist is predicting a second, even larger Tea Party wave... I think he’s right. I hope that Legal Insurrection and College Insurrection will be at the forefront of that wave.” Continue reading...
"As the creator and one of two admins for this page, I just want to go on record and say I am dismayed and more than disappointed at how Paul Ryan has changed..."
Sure. Barack Obama will “stand with folks” hurt by Hurricane Sandy. Just as he “stood with” four American citizens in Benghazi, Libya -- Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty -- and watched them die.
From "Hope and Change" to "Revenge!" -- that certainly sums up his last four years, doesn't it?
Then again, maybe Barack Obama wants this to end ugly. Real ugly. Maybe he's thinking if he can't win, to hell with everyone and everything. And America is on that list.
While we're thinking that our long national nightmare may soon be over, he's thinking otherwise. The way the retreating nazis destroyed everything.
He's a community agitator at heart, and he feeds off the mob -- the supporters he has brimming with hate. The ones now promising to riot. For him. While he's on the campaign trail calling for revenge.
Recall that he failed to address the flash mob violence and he's silent again. Except for his call for revenge. He may just have it in his twisted mind to be the LAST president of the United States. This may not end well. Fear the worst and stand prepared.
Barack Obama has BLOOD on his hands. The week before, he skipped his intelligence briefings. When he finally was briefed and received 48-hour notice of the coming US embassy attack, Obama did nothing. No warnings, no alerts, no lock-down, no protection, no US Marines.
NOTHING.
Four Americans dead, US embassies attacked, American flags burned, safe houses compromised, classified documents taken and Obama campaigned. As the ambassador’s body was being dragged through the streets, Obama partied. Then got a good night’s sleep.
[Video] Hand prints in blood on embassy walls: CNN’s Arwa Damon shares the first video from inside the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino says there are only two possible reasons the U.S. was unprepared for the embassy attack: “Either this was the worst threat assessment done by completely incompetent people or the threat assessment was accurate and was ignored. And a valid question is, was it ignored for political reasons? We’ve seen this before with this administration, politics before security.”
[Audio] Mark Steyn has this to say about Obama’s “performance” in Las Vegas: “Nobody…would attempt to do anything so crass after this man is dragged through the streets — after he is killed, dragged through the streets of Libya, God knows what’s happened to him if you believe some of the worst stories out there. And then the guy goes to Vegas. Why not just do it at Caesar’s Palace with a bunch of showgirls? Every American who’s watching, regardless if you’re Democrat or Republican, if you’re not embarrassed by the buffoon who’s serving as President of the United States after that performance last night, there’s something wrong with you.”
“So, let me get this straight -- this is a long sentence. We’re going to be gifted with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don’t which purportedly covers at least ten million more people without adding a single new doctor but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it passed by a Congress that didn’t read it but exempted themselves from it and signed by a President who smokes… [laughter] …with funding administered by a Treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes for which we would be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare all to be overseen by a Surgeon General who’s obese… [more laughter] …and financed by a country that’s broke. So what the blank could possibly go wrong?!?”
Hat tip to Gags!
The Democrats are headed for a disaster of biblical proportions...
I mean Old Testament, real wrath of God type stuff. Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes... The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!
Thuggery Incorporated -- revisiting the ugly thuggish face(s) of the Democrat Party: Bob Etheridge, Mike Capuano, Richard Trumka, Jimmy Hoffa, Gordon Hintz, Elizabeth Warren, Michael P. Meehan aka “The Coakley Thug” and the Democrat Thug-in-Chief, Obama.
Hoffa at Obama Rally:
“We are your Army -- let‘s take these sons of bitches out!”
Meet Democrat Gordon Hintz...
WI Democrat Gordon Hintz, once busted in a prostitution sting, turns to a female colleague, Conservative Republican Michelle Litjens, and says, “You are fucking dead!”
Watch Democrat Elizabeth Warren “take no action” despite witnessing the attack perpetrated by her driver...
Meet Democrat Michael P. Meehan, also known as “The Coakley Thug”...
Back in 2010, a similar incident occurred, this one involving a different Democrat from Massachusetts, Martha Coakley, but it wasn’t a driver -- it was a newly-hired campaign strategist named Michael P. Meehan who, after assaulting a Weekly Standard reporter in our nation’s capitol, went on to become “The Coakley Thug”.
It was classic Saul Alinsky tactics that Democrats habitually revert to when the rubber meets the road... or in this case, when the reporter met the ground.
A look back at how The Coakley Thug’s smoking gun was loaded...
Michael P. Meehan calls himself a “messaging” specialist. His outfit, Blue Line Strategic Communications (now VennSquared Communications), was so proud of his (pre-assault) deployment then, they tweeted it: “The DSCC dispatches Blue Line’s Michael Meehan to assist Coakley camp with messaging.”
Some message -- the typical Democrat “We gonna get up in your face -- literally -- and then knock you down” message. Meehan also brags about the campaign strategizing he’s done for numerous Democrats, including Kerry, Daschle, Boxer, and his mentor and role model, Democrat Thug-in-Chief, Barack Obama.
Sounds like a breeding ground/cesspool if there ever was one.
Last and definitely worst, meet Barack Obama, Democrat Thug-in-Chief: “We’re gonna punish our enemies [fellow Americans!] and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us...”
Charles Krauthammer responds: Quite a uniter, urging Hispanics to go to the polls to exact political revenge on their enemies ... This from a president who won’t even use “enemies” to describe an Iranian regime that is helping kill U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan. This from a man who rose to prominence thunderously declaring that we were not blue states or red states, not black America or white America or Latino America -- but the United States of America. This is how the great post-partisan, post-racial, New Politics presidency ends -- not with a bang, not with a whimper, but with a desperate election-eve plea for ethnic retribution.
You can take Obama out of Chicago but you can’t take “the Chicago” out of Obama -- he’s a thug by nature.
Let’s wrap this up with one more clip from “The Untouchables” -- a scene that is considered to be one of the ten most vicious beatings in movie history. Keep in mind that, prior to Sean Connery’s line, everything we have seen and heard here actually happened.
According to FOX News, Clint Eastwood will speak at the #GOP2012 convention. Let’s hope he calls out Obama and uses these quotes! #tcot #teaparty #Resist44
Clint Eastwood addresses the 2012 Republican National Convention.
Mr. Timperlake writes: Americans have a firm appreciation for sports metaphors. So if one looks at our political process to select the President as the "Super Bowl" then it could be implied that the two conventions are the first and second quarters respectively.
The second half, with both conventions gaveled to a close, will show how each competing team R and D adjusts to address what plays happened in the first half. The Republican's just had a spectacular first quarter, in my opinion, their best Convention ever, and it is soon time for the Ds to run their game plan.
However, something uniquely American happened during the Republican convention -- a new, never seen before play was run. An iconic and extremely successful artist created an original, entirely unique moments in our political history. Clint Eastwood gave one of the greatest pieces of performance art ever seen.
Clint Eastwood knew exactly what he was doing -- as both an actor AND director he knows full well how to deliver a message that resonates. As a simple, practical matter his speech will be discussed for a very very long time and that will bring positive focus back to a very successful GOP convention again and again.
But Clint's true artistic genius was provoking the ready, fire, aim, liberal Obama Administration supporters, and was reflective of how the "take him down at all costs" pack journalism thinks. It was pathetic when they focused on his age as their attack line. So go ahead you fools insult the elderly, use getting old as a weapon to discredit an extremely powerful message done with fantastic humor. That will turn out to be very, very stupid media attack line in the run up to the election. Not to mention, how off the mark it is because Clint Eastwood was out-thinking everyone and was intellectually miles ahead of all of you.
It gets better. In this age of ubiquitous social media -- especially YouTube -- every observation and attack segment that Clint Eastwood articulated will be proliferated nationwide by his countless fans. His performance was, at times, filled with nuance and droll asides, but always combined with the underlying principle a direct no BS statement of what it means to be an American citizen.
Going into their Convention and the second half there is nothing the Obama Administration can do about it. As a successful actor and director Clint Eastwood knows how to make a point and he made a politically historic point using his artistic gifts.
Finally, President Obama and his wife claimed to not be watching the RNC--actually their best PR strategy. Yet, according to the New York Post, the President of the United States just engaged against a surrogate.
Our current President AKA "Mr Cool" was provoked enough to blow-up his own strategy and make his original position a lie. Not a bad nights performance all around Mr Eastwood!
Thomas Lifson adds:
I agree with Ed that Clint Eastwood's approach was an example of thinking outside the box, and despite what amounts to a firestorm of criticism, may well do the job in a way that no politician's speech could have accomplished.
Simply put, Eastwood's job was to make it OK to laugh at President Obama, and to vote against him without worrying that one might be a racist for firing the first black president. There were two principal themes:
1. President Obama has failed the nation.
2. He presents an image as a nice guy, but maybe he isn't really so nice.
The key to delivering these messages is to somehow escape being labeled as "mean" or "racist."
Clint Eastwood occupies a special place in the modern American mind. His long career embodies, persistence (the spaghetti western exile during which he created an archetype, "the man with no name" despite being shunned by Hollywood as a failed star of a defunct Western TV show - Rawhide), fearlessness (Dirty Harry - a masterpiece that was immediately recognized by fans, and which took most critics years to appreciate because of its politically incorrect message), and only later, after decades of producing and directing, truth-telling master artist.
Americans can hear hard messages coming from Clint. He has a certain immunity that comes with being old and beloved. Yes, some of his sentences did not complete themselves. Yes, he was a bit doddering. And yes, his F yourself jokes were crude. Grandpa sometimes embarrasses the family at birthdays and anniversaries by bringing up uncomfortable topics. But everyone also loves Grandpa, and realizes he tells the truth because he hasn't got that much longer with us, and doesn't give a damn anymore what people think. The one thing everyone remembers about the party afterward is when Grandpa mentioned the adultery, the grandkid who did drugs, or the other secrets that everyone prefers to keep their mouths shut about.
There are lots of truths about President Obama -- including that he really isn't such a nice guy -- that the media will not allow consideration of. Except from Grandpa.
So yes, MSNBC pundits, go on and on about "senile old Clint" or his "bizarre" presentation. Keep people thinking about the un-pc message he delivered.
This is going to be one interesting campaign.
The pundit class has no imagination, apparently, no understanding of real art. No understanding of how people process what they see and hear.
Thank God, Mitt has people who get it. I wonder who proposed this startegy? I bet it was Clint, and the Romney image makers had the wit to recognize the right way to deliver the message.
Clint going over into 10 PM was no accident. Everyone who tuned in at the appointed hour saw Clint. Then they watched him again on YouTube. And told their friends about the YouTube.
This makes it the only thing people are talking about, instead of knocking Mitt. The more they beat up on Clint, the better. That Grandpa sure is outrageous.

The official NASA archives caption to this picture says: Buzz took this picture of Neil in the cabin after the completion of the EVA [the moon walk]. Neil has his helmet off but has not yet doffed his “Snoopy” cap. The circuit breaker panels are illuminated, and a small floodlight is on at the lower right. A circuit breaker chart has been fixed up on the wall with gray tape, below the rendezvous window in the cabin roof. http://www.hq.nasa.gov/alsj/a11/AS11-37-5528HR.jpg
“For those who may ask what they can do to honor Neil, we have a simple request. Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink.” ~Statement from Neil Armstrong’s family
Vice President Biden is The Gaffe Machine but this run he’s on now makes me wonder. That’s why in all seriousness I ask the following:
(1) Assuming Biden is of sound mind, would he intentionally overplay his foot-in-mouth disease to change the ticket? Would Obama hatch such a scheme if he thought it would get him reelected?
(2) On the other hand, if it was known that Biden had Dementia, would Obama keep that under wraps until he could leverage it for political gain? I’m alarmed these questions even seem viable but we’ve already seen this regime lie, cheat and steal then cover it up to further their ends. That’s why I cannot put ANYTHING past Obama -- he is in it to win.
In either case, hypothetically speaking, the Obama campaign would still stand behind anything Biden said and the “mainstream” media would play that up (as they are doing now) hoping to garner sympathy for the man until their “Dementia story” -- whether true or not -- was released. Recall that prior to the 2008 election, the Journ“O”List coordinated attacks against Obama detractors and suppressed any news that would harm him. (The “O” stood for Obama!) Who’s to say that could not happen again? For our (illegitimate?) president, the rewards outweigh any of the risks. In fact, I would argue that Obama think himself so immune, he has already drafted a letter pardoning himself!
Post-DNC coronation, Obama would get to leave Charlotte with the bump he craves and his Dem base all fired up (unlike now). And “Mo” would on his side -- that powerful electing force called Momentum. Biden as a topic would come off the table because the “evil” GOP would be cast as bullies of a “helpless” man. More importantly, Paul Ryan’s takedown of Biden would never happen. I hope that’s not “the plan” -- I’m no conspiracy theorist -- I’m just thinking outside the box. I don’t want to see any October or any month election surprises of any kind.
If the above seems far-fetched, please consider this: If you were told after 9/11 that before the decade was up, a man with an unknown past and Hussein for a middle name would become our president, you probably would not have believed it. For those who say that speaks to the greatness of our country, I understand but say this in response: That same man argued for a mosque at Ground Zero and now invites Muslim Brotherhood terrorists to our White House as his guests. Think about that!
What an ignorant headline. Since when did the CIA Director become a partisan cog in the Obama administration? Or is this just another indication that US News and World Report approves of the way Obama plays politics with our military, the CIA, DOJ, EPA, and IRS? (Feel free to think of your own three-letter agencies complicit in furthering the radical agenda of this four-letter administration.)
If anyone is guilty of betrayal, Obama and Biden would top that list. Their approval of the Left’s vicious “Betray Us” campaign against General Petraeus and their thorough 2007 trashing of the man are certainly proof of that.
Yes, I’m talking about the same Obama (you could substitute Biden here) who as senator(s), did everything they could to lose the Global War On Terror but still actually claim its “success” today as their “great achievement” -- that’s the guise, er, guy(s).
More Betrayer-in-Chief: Obama’s “war-fighting” in Afghanistan betrayed our troops when he gave the general he first selected, General McChrystal, only half the troops requested -- and an egg timer to boot -- then fired him! Of course, Democrats proceeded to call Obama’s choice for replacement, General Petraeus, “brilliant” -- quick to forget that he was selected and served honorably in that capacity under President Bush. And that they had trashed him.
Recall that prior to the 2008 presidential election, we were told that Obama added Biden to the ticket because he added "foreign relations experience" and “statesmanship” (you can laugh now). We now know that Biden’s gaffes have also helped draw attention away from a teleprompter-less Obama.
Biden in February 2010: “Iraq will be one of the great
achievements of this administration.”
Biden in November 2010: “Daddy is going to start to
take the training wheels off.”
Dr. Charles Krauthammer has also weighed on the Obama betrayal.
Krauthammer in February 2009: Obama’s failure to
acknowledge democracy in Iraq is “disgraceful”.
Krauthammer in August 2010: Iraq is a “distraction”
to Obama. “His heart is not in these missions abroad”.
Krauthammer in August 2010: “We won the war militarily, that was Bush and Petraeus. As a result, when they handed it over at the inauguration in 2009, the Obama administration had one task -- a diplomatic task, that’s what Democrats are good at. A year and half [later], get an election done, a government in place. It has absolutely failed on that. It had one task, a diplomatic task and it’s left us in a situation where we’re winding down, we’re leaving and the government is extremely unstable.”
Krauthammer in October 2011 on the sacrifices and
success of The Surge: “Obama gave it away.”
Note: Regarding Obama’s “war-fighting” in Iraq, two weeks ago it was reported that al-Qaida “is returning to the old strongholds from which it was driven by U.S. forces and their Sunni allies prior to the American withdrawal at the end of last year, and that it is preparing operations to free prisoners and assassinate court officials.”
Wars don’t just “end” -- they are won or lost. No war was ever won where the winner announced beforehand when they’d stop fighting. Translation? As Commander-in-Chief, Obama is truly a disgrace.
UPDATE: Sony Pictures has moved Zero Dark Thirty’s release date to December. Stay tuned.
Talk about Wag the Dog. Kathryn Bigelow, the director of Zero Dark Thirty, was given unprecedented access to classified intelligence and she received Obama’s own talking points -- she’s a huge supporter -- so that his role and so-called “gutsy decision” would be played up in the film despite the fact the “kill” mission was postponed at least three times for political reasons.
US Navy SEALs have slammed their “Commander-in-Chief” for taking undue credit, “spiking the bin Laden football” and for divulging the identies of Special Forces operators and using them as “ammunition” in his never-ending reelection campaign.
Once again, President Obama uses OUR country’s troops and leaks national security information for HIS political gain. He is a disgrace.
Obama’s call was not so “gutsy” after all... The Daily Caller’s David Martosko: At the urging of Valerie Jarrett, President Barack Obama canceled the operation to kill Osama bin Laden on three separate occasions before finally approving the May 2, 2011 Navy SEAL mission.
“Spiking the bin Laden football”
Serving and former US Navy SEALs have slammed President Obama for taking the credit for killing Osama bin Laden and accused him of using Special Forces operators as “ammunition” for his re-election campaign. … Mr. Obama has faced criticism even from allies about his decision to make a campaign ad about the bin Laden raid. Arianna Huffington, an outspoken liberal who runs the left-leaning Huffington Post website, roundly condemned it. She told CBS: “We should celebrate the fact that they did such a great job. It’s one thing to have an NBC special from the Situation Room... all that to me is perfectly legitimate, but to turn it into a campaign ad is one of the most despicable things you can do.” http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2137636/Osama-bin-Laden-death-SEALs-slam-Obama-using-ammunition-bid-credit.html
Washington Post’s Dana Milbank boards the “anti-Obama” train:
The preezy of the United Steezy is making me queasy. I’m not troubled by Obama’s slow jam with Jimmy Fallon, who dubbed the commander in chief “preezy” during Obama’s appearance on late-night TV. No, preezy is making me queasy because his nonstop campaigning is looking, well, sleazy — and his ad suggesting that Mitt Romney wouldn’t have killed Osama bin Laden is just the beginning of it. In a political culture that long ago surrendered to the permanent campaign, Obama has managed to take things to a whole new level. According to statistics compiled for a book to be published this summer, the president has already set a record for total first-term fundraisers — 191 — and that’s only through March 6. Measured in terms of events that benefit his reelection bid, Obama’s total (inflated in part by relaxed fundraising rules) exceeds the combined total of George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/president-obama-campaigner-in-chief/2012/04/30/gIQATAfbsT_story.html
Mr. President: Heroes Don’t Spike the Football Veterans for a Strong America is a non-partisan organization dedicated to keeping America strong. Their video criticizing Obama for spiking the bin Laden football finishes with two simple truths:
“Our Service Members sacrifice to protect our country.”
“Not to benefit his political campaign.”
Obama killed “Geronimo” at “Zero Dark Thirty” Feature-length Obama commercial to open a month before election in a theater near you! Maureen Dowd on August 6, 2011: “The White House is also counting on the Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal big-screen version of the killing of Bin Laden to counter Obama’s growing reputation as ineffectual. The Sony film by the Oscar-winning pair who made “The Hurt Locker” will no doubt reflect the president’s cool, gutsy decision against shaky odds. Just as Obamaland was hoping, the movie is scheduled to open on Oct. 12, 2012 — perfectly timed to give a home-stretch boost to a campaign that has grown tougher. The moviemakers are getting top-level access to the most classified mission in history from an administration that has tried to throw more people in jail for leaking classified information than the Bush administration. It was clear that the White House had outsourced the job of manning up the president’s image to Hollywood when Boal got welcomed to the upper echelons of the White House and the Pentagon and showed up recently — to the surprise of some military officers — at a C.I.A. ceremony celebrating the hero Seals.” http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/07/opinion/sunday/Dowd--The-Downgrade-Blues.html
Dowd Column Lauds Movie Reconstructing Bin Laden Operation To Be Released Oct. 12, 2012 -- Tom Blumer writes: “Beyond the security issues and the potential tastelessness of putting out an election-year commercial posing as a feature film, it is intensely ironic that an administration which has seemed to bend over backwards to avoid offending Muslim and Middle Eastern sensibilities at every turn has no problem whatsoever doing what will from all appearances be a cinematic end-zone dance in front of the entire world.” http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tom-blumer/2011/08/07/dowd-column-notes-movie-reconstructing-bin-laden-operation-be-released-o
CBS Anchor Charlie Rose: “…it’s no surprise that the Obama administration would enthusiastically welcome a movie about the killing of bin Laden. But some critics say what is surprising is how far the White House was willing to go to get that movie made.”
Ed Lasky writes: “Obama is allowing his Hollywood donors to coin a profit from the heroic bin Laden mission the Seals undertook.”
“Who would have guessed that Navy Seals -- among the most courageous of our soldiers -- have been drafted to serve as Obama reelection campaign volunteers?” http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2012/01/obama_exploits_navy_seals.html
Obama uses OUR troops, leaks classified intel to benefit HIS presidential reelection campaign
Judicial Watch Obtains DOD and CIA Records Detailing Meetings with bin Laden Raid Filmmakers -- DOD Officials Disclosed to Filmmakers Identity of SEAL Team Six Operator and Commander; Ask Film Director to Withhold Operator’s Name
(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch, the organization that investigates and fights government corruption, announced today that it has obtained records from the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) regarding meetings and communications between government agencies and Kathryn Bigelow, Academy Award-winning director of The Hurt Locker, and screenwriter Mark Boal. According to the records, the Obama Defense Department granted Bigelow and Boal access to a “planner, Operator and Commander of SEAL Team Six,” which was responsible for the capture and killing of Osama bin Laden, to assist Bigelow prepare her upcoming feature film. The records, obtained pursuant to court order in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed on January 21, 2012, include 153 pages of records from the DOD and 113 pages of records from the CIA (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Defense (No. 1:12-cv-00049)).
“These documents, which took nine months and a federal lawsuit to disgorge from the Obama administration, show that politically-connected film makers were giving extraordinary and secret access to bin Laden raid information, including the identity of a Seal Team Six leader,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “It is both ironic and hypocritical that the Obama administration stonewalled Judicial Watch’s pursuit of the bin Laden death photos, citing national security concerns, yet seemed willing to share intimate details regarding the raid to help Hollywood filmmakers release a movie ‘perfectly timed to give a home-stretch boost’ to the Obama campaign.” http://www.judicialwatch.org/press-room/press-releases/13421/
Top White House officials worked closely with producers of a movie about the successful killing of Osama bin Laden and pushed them to incorporate the administration’s talking points… The filmmakers “are basically using the WH-approved talking points we used the night of the operation,” according to a June 2011 e-mail Under-Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Michael Vickers sent to the Pentagon’s PR chief, Douglas Wilson. Those talking points described the raid as a “gutsy decision” and played up the president’s role. http://dailycaller.com/2012/05/22/white-house-officials-shaped-pending-bin-laden-movie/
Leif Babin: Obama Exploits the Navy SEALs
There may be political value in detailing how our special forces hunted bin Laden, but doing so threatens troop safety and future missions. … A week after the bin Laden raid, then-Secretary of Defense Robert Gates expressed dismay about Washington’s loose lips, telling a town hall meeting of U.S. Marines at Camp Lejeune: “Frankly, a week ago Sunday, in the Situation Room, we all agreed that we would not release any operational details from the effort to take out bin Laden. That all fell apart on Monday—the next day.” http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204740904577193024150056072.html
